With thorough training in Introduction and Beginners classes to Intermediate and Advanced-Pro levels, coursework in Oriental Dance (bellydance) technique, choreography and freestyle is covered, with music from the different regions and eras in the bellydance world, including both the classical and folkloric from EGYPT, TURKEY, MOROCCO, LEBANON, the GULF etc. Students are encouraged in a safe and supportive environment, and most women enjoy weight loss, improvement of self esteem, correction of lower back and hip pain, a renewed lust for life and a growing personal power alongside the deepening knowledge of the authentic Oriental art of dance.

- Develop fluidity through transitions, expanded expression repertoire and ability to articulate improvisation on Egyptian Balady music, qccording to traditional modulation. Theoretic guidance together with practical exploration.

- Relax into playing zills and darbuka for the first time, or to improve and practice. You have the opportunity to learn how to count the music and tap the rhythms on both darbuka and tambourine. When you move on to the zills (finger cymbals), you will be shown standard patterns of accompaniment as well as ways of creating your own patterns...

- For women with impulse to express their spirit and creativity... Move your hips and twirl your arms with watery, cascading beats and fiery drums. Serpentine, shimmering feminine movement from the Turkish and Arab Golden Age (60's & 70's). Plus basic romany (gypsy).

- FOUNDATION COURSE in ARABIC CLASSICAL DANCE following modules of DANCE DEVELOPMENT in Egypt from the Golden Age to the present day, with notes, sample choreography and studies of the stars in chronological succession to follow the development of technique and performance of the modern Arabic emotional song dance with choreographies from the most famous superstars who developed the shape of the dance. Take the steps of the stars under your belt, and begin to practice song identification in the choreography studies to works of the great songmasters: Mohammed Abdel Wahab, Farid Al-Atrash, Abdel Halim Hafez and Oum Kulthoum. Identify context of the era in which the songs were produced and the translation of the music and performance for modern audiences and towards the modern Cairo style. The class includes lengthly warmup and technique drilling for advancing flexibility and stamina, building strength and toning the body. (full course details outlined on the left)
